Rotary Percussive Lead Driller

Main Purpose of the Job
Following a period of growth, we are looking for experienced Rotary Percussive Lead Drillers, to join our Operations team, delivering work to clients throughout Scotland and the UK.
Key tasks:
- Competent operation of rotary percussive (top hammer) drilling rig to form boreholes for injection of grout
- Knowledge of bulk infill and shaft infill methods (drilling and grouting)
- Loading / unloading of tracked drilling rig from wagon
- Rigging and de-rigging of drill rig for vertical and angled probe holes. Setting mast to required angle and orientation.
- Work to a defined health and safety management system and understand what is required from themselves as well as other colleagues
- Understand specific drilling instructions given on site and carry them out efficiently to enable the boreholes to be drilled in a timely manner and on program
- Keep detailed records of daily activities, strata encountered etc
- Undertake daily pre-start and maintenance checks on assigned drilling rig, vehicle and equipment and record for submission to plant department. Keep log of breakdown times for submission to plant dept.
- Any other reasonable additional tasks to ensure the safe and effective progression of site works.
Candidates must have as a minimum:
- NVQ Level 2 (Lead Driller)
- CSCS card
- Full UK Driving License
Required language:
- English to a competent level, both spoken and comprehensive, to follow and understand Health & Safety procedures.
Physical Working Environment
The job will involve frequent travel to sites throughout the UK, and will involve working/lodging away from home.
Operatives are required to work in any conditions e.g. excessive heat, noise, dirt. sedentary work, working outside year-round, subject to extremes of climatic conditions.
